Rochdale Legal Enterprise – Legal advice at a fair price

Rochdale Legal Enterprise (‘RLE’) is a community interest company based in Rochdale. RLE works closely with Rochdale Law Centre. RLE was set up to provide low cost professional legal services to individuals at affordable rates for those on low and middle incomes. After staff costs and running costs any excess income generated from charges to clients is given to Rochdale Law Centre to help with its charity work.

RLE is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

RLE offers advice and representation at a fair price by qualified and experienced solicitors. RLE provides these services in two areas

We offer a range of low-cost immigration and asylum law services for people no longer able to get legal aid.

What we do

The services on offer include:

• One-off case review and document checking
• Out of country visa applications
• Certificate of Approval applications
• Many other additional services including appeals

You will be asked to pay a one-off fee and to bring in all your documentation within a two week time frame. Your case will be handled, personally, by Ms Giblin who is a qualified solicitor with over 10 years experience.

Employment Law Service

The Employment Law Service is operated by solicitors experienced in employment law. To our knowledge it offers the lowest cost solicitor service in the region in helping people resolve their employment matters, including representation in making claims against former (and current) employers.

The features of the service are as follows

• Free interview. We will take as much time as is necessary with you to consider your complaint. We will take a detailed account of events from you, consider all your papers (eg letters, contracts) and provide comprehensive advice about your rights and ways to resolve the matter including a claim for compensation.
• If you wish for further legal assistance and representation to help secure compensation we offer a no win no fee arrangement. Our standard charge is 25% of what you recover in compensation. This means if you recover nothing then we charge you nothing. The normal charge by solicitors is 35%. We are not aware of any other solicitor practice in the region offering a charge as low as 25%.
• If you want us to prepare on your behalf a detailed letter of grievance or appeal, our standard charge is £50.
• We also offer a free fast-track service for individuals seeking assistance with compromise agreements, where the employer agrees to pay for our assistance
